There was a war in Vietnam ,but Mai and her family lived in an isolated village , and they thought that they were safe until Kein came (a 14 year old orphan ) bringing tales about the war.
He was very rude that he ate 4 big bowls of rice and asked for more !but Hong wasn't happy...after feeding him she asked him to have a shower and gave him a soap and a towel .
Kien was really rude .
while Mai was helping Hong with the dishes , she heared her father saying words like ( Kien , Bad ,he should go away )
so she asked the maid why does her grandfather want him to go ?
only because he is rude ?
Hong answered : you are right and he also doesn't belong here.
Mai said that she also doesn't belong here . but Hong explained that she is different from kein and she asked her about her story .
She was very sad while telling her sad story .
she have had lost her mother while she was at the hospital when her brother was born .
Her father was also dead when he worked as a doctor for the army .
and she said that she suffered alot brother and grandfather while travelling from one village to another looking for this village and they were lost until Tam and Duc found them .
Then they heard Kien singing . and Hong started to shake .
and she asked Hong ( what has my remembering the city do with Kien not being welcomed in the village ?
Hong didn't answer and said : im busy .. go away now
