When she was nineteen months old, she had a fever and it left her without sight and hearing so she could not use sign language or communicate because she was young when she lost her sight and hearing.
But she was extremely intelligent and learned another way to communicate for example she learned to understand speech by touching the speakers lips.
Keller wrote many books with her teachers help.
