Shakespeare was born and raised in [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Stratford-upon-Avon][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Stratford-upon-Avon[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25]. At the age of 18, he married [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Anne_Hathaway_(Shakespeare)][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Anne Hathaway[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25], who bore him three children: [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Susanna_Hall][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Susanna[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25], and twins [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Hamnet_Shakespeare][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Hamnet[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25] and [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Judith_Quiney][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Judith[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25]. Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1590 and 1613. His early plays were mainly [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Shakespearean_comedy][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]comedies[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25] and [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Shakespearean_history][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]histories[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25], genres he raised to the peak of sophistication and artistry by the end of the sixteenth century. He then wrote mainly [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Shakespearean_tragedy][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]tragedies[/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25] until about 1608, including [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Hamlet][i][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Hamlet[/i][/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25], [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/King_Lear][i][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]King Lear[/i][/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25], and [/size][url=https://algassania2.mam9.com/wiki/Macbeth][i][u][size=25][color:455a=#0000ff]Macbeth[/i][/u][/color][/size][/url][size=25], considered some of the finest examples in the English language. Many of his plays were published in editions of varying quality and accuracy during his lifetime.
