Alot of people think that Palmyra is the cradle of civilisation because it has always been the center between east and west ,and it has alot of monuments and ruins htat narrate the history.
Palmyra (todmor) was a very rich city in the east .
Palmyra is near Afqa (a hot-water spring ) and caravans who came from China to the Medetaranean bringing silk found the spring a nice stop .so that Palmyra was known as The Oasis.
After the Romans conquered Syria ,Palmyra became (the city of [/size][size=25][color:3522=#ff0000]palm[/color][/size][size=25]s:[/size][size=25][color:3522=#ff0000]Palm[/color][/size][size=25]yra) in that time they have built new streets temples and arches.
That made Palmyra one of the greatest cities in the Roman Empire.
