In 1875,animal bones and ancient weapons were

Marcelino de sautuola in Altamira Cave in Spain.

She noticed paintings of bulls and other animals on
The ceiling. Then Maria and her father made the
Most amazing discovery of all: human handprints
On the walls of the cave. Today archaeologists think
the paintings and prints were made by hunters who
lived over 16,000 years ago. But no one is sure
exactly why they were placed there.
